Head Immobilizer

1. Description:

1) Unique head strap is designed to be comfortable for patient’s forehead.

2) Large ear holes for monitoring the patient’s bleeding.

3) Minimal interference with X-ray, MRI or CT procedures.

4) Waterproof plastic coating makes it easy to prevent bacterial growth within components. Will not absorb blood or fluids. Durable and easy to clean.

 

2. Check List.

Each unit should have:

1 Base Board with eight ”D” shaped loops.

2 Block with round holes.

2 Immobilization Belts.

2 Head Straps.

 

3. How to use:

1) Use central top belt

Put base board on spine board; insert the top belt through the central hole on spine board (Picture 1).

Have belt go through the D loop, reverse and stick on belt Velcro (Picture 2).

2) Use two belts and the four Middle D loops to immobilize base board on spine board.

Immobilize one side Velcro to D loop (Picture 3, 4).

Then turn over the spine board and immobilize the other side Velcro to symmetrical D loop . (Picture 5, 6).

3) Use two Block to immobilize patient’s head

Firstly immobilize a Block on base board’s one side by Velcro (Picture 7).

Put patient’s head carefully on the base board (Picture 8).

Put the other Block to the other side of head and get the proper position for head immobilization,

stick to Velcro. Neither leave a too large space between two blocks nor immobilize head uncomfortably

too tight. Hole on block is used to monitor patient bleeding (Picture 9).

4) Put on two Head Strap

Use one strap and two symmetrical D loops to immobilize forehead (Picture 10).

Use the other strap and left two symmetrical D loops to immobilize the chin (Picture 11)

 

4. Maintenance: 

Clean with wet cloth after use. 

Don’t wash black Velcro parts with water.

Keep dry and ventilated.
